My take on staying out of spam and actually getting outbound to work for you...
If you're offering interesting ideas, insights, thoughtful questions, trends etc. that are highly relevant to a prospect, based on context and research
then you're not going to be put into spam.
Even if they're not ready to buy yet (true for >97% of prospects you reach out to)
you're building a relationship, generating trust and credibility, so they're bookmarking you as a value-add future partner to reach out to when the timing is right.
Cold email is closer to brand and awareness building than the direct response channel is was given all the changes that impact deliverability
so aim to spark an interesting conversation.
