How to sum up a year full of challenges, successes, dedication, and so much more? In our activity report 2023, we try to do this, and the foreword summarises it the best: At Mondo we are not not ashamed to believe that it is possible to make the world a more equal place. We know that every small action or donation is a step in the right direction. We do not apologise if we are considered idealists, because our idealism is based on more than 16 years of work and has shown that we are right. In our work, we see the most painful aspects of the world; we see new and long-lasting, often forgotten crises in which millions of people continue to live their daily lives. Mondo's mission is to support and empower vulnerable communities around the world and to raise Estonians' understanding of global inequality and the ways each person can help alleviate it. We feel a responsibility and obligation to act even in contexts where there seems to be no systemic solution. We do this because every child deserves a childhood, every person deserves a dignified life, opportunities for self-sufficiency, access to education, and healthcare. We cannot change the whole world, but we can change the small worlds of many people. In the fields of humanitarian aid, development cooperation, and global education, nothing can be truly achieved alone. At Mondo, all goals have been achieved as a team. We are immensely grateful to all our current and former employees. All activities and goals have been accomplished together as a team. The same applies to the entire Estonian non-profit sector. Supporting each other is a strong foundation for the sector's viability, sustainability, and professionalisation. Through cooperation with funders, the public and private sectors, partner organisations, and various cooperation networks, we have been able to change the small worlds of many people in our target countries of development cooperation. The support of private donors has been constant – we feel the responsibility for the purposeful and transparent use of every euro and do our utmost to maintain this trust. In Estonia, we are actually doing very well. So well that we take many things for granted. However, we must remember that not long ago we were a country receiving aid. Just as we have been helped, it is our duty to support other communities and countries – so that more and more people can live, raise children, and fulfill themselves in a safe society. ?? WWBT Needs Your Support: Help Us Raise $10,000 for Locals and Refugees in Lesvos! We’re excited to announce the next phase of our refugee and local support initiative on the island of Lesvos! ?? After years of providing critical services at our location in Moria, serving as the only women's and children's center on the island, we're moving our organization to the heart of Mytilene to a historic resettlement neighborhood built by refugees of Asia Minor over a century ago. ??This move will allow us to better serve the thousands of refugees who continue to arrive, offering vital services and a path toward independence. ?? Additionally, by focusing on the heart of Mytilene, we aim to strengthen the local economy, which in turn benefits the residents of Lesvos. ?? Our New Center Will: - Offer essential services like legal aid, educational programs, and outreach. ? - Offer job placement resources and directly boost the local economy. ?? - Provide a safe space for women and children to learn, heal, and grow. ?? - Connect refugees to resources near the hospital and local shops, ensuring access to medical care and daily needs. ?? ?? How You Can Help: Your contribution will directly fund the center’s move, ensuring more refugees have access to critical services. ?? 100% of proceeds go back into the local economy, helping both refugees and the Lesvos community build and thrive. ?? So far, we partnered with 23 local businesses, nonprofits, and advocacy groups on the island of Lesvos, and are aiming to expand! ?? Every dollar helps refugees gain the tools they need to build a future and integrate into society with dignity and purpose. Every dollar also helps locals of Lesvos support the local economy, local businesses, and partnerships with other organizations. ?? Please donate today via the link below, share this post, and be sure to DM us to get more involved! Be part of a solution that empowers the Lesvos communities and transform lives. Together, we can provide a brighter future for refugees and the local Lesvos community. ?? https://lnkd.in/eAKVUshf For more information about our organization, check out:?https://wwbt.org #humanitarianaid #wwbt #wwbthellas

?? Urgent: Stand with COMSA to Protect Refugee & Immigrant Support Programs ?? Refugees and immigrants are the backbone of many of our communities, contributing as hardworking employees, entrepreneurs, and leaders. Since 2017, COMSA has been a lifeline for refugee and immigrant families in Greater Green Bay, helping them rebuild their lives and create brighter futures. But today, our mission faces unprecedented challenges: The suspension of federal refugee resettlement services has left families stranded without critical support. Housing, employment, medical care, and other vital resources are now at risk. While resettlement agencies have paused services, COMSA has stepped up to fill the void. In 2024 alone, we delivered: ? 649 Employment Services ? 298 Housing Assistance Services ? 611 Translation/Interpretation Services ? 164 Health Advocacy Services …and more. This growing demand has outpaced our resources, and we need your support to sustain these life-changing programs. How You Can Help: ?? Advocate for Change: Reach out to elected officials to support refugee resettlement and integration policies. ?? Collaborate: Share this message with your network and help us grow the movement for inclusion. ?? Donate to COMSA: Your contributions provide housing, employment support, education, and health advocacy. Every dollar makes a difference. ?? Donate Here: https://lnkd.in/gGMG3uEk ?? Learn More About COMSA: https://www.comsausa.org/ This is about more than services—it’s about protecting human dignity and ensuring every newcomer is met with care, opportunity, and belonging. Let’s work together to keep Green Bay a beacon of hope, resilience, and inclusion for all. #RefugeesWelcome #StandWithCOMSA #CommunitySupport #InclusionMatters #NonprofitLeadership

2.4 MILLION PEOPLE UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency has estimated that a staggering 2.4 million people will be forcibly displaced in 2024. This is a 20% increase since last year, meaning that the refugee crisis is accelerating, and so must our efforts to combat it. That's: 2.4 million people in need of shelter. 2.4 million people in need of food. 2.4 million people in need of medical and social support. 2.4 million people in need of humanity. This problem is by no means an easy fix, but at Indigo we believe that small actions create a big impact. In 2023 we placed 334 volunteers who contributed to 26,857 days of volunteering for our wonderful charity partners who work tirelessly to provide essential aid and support to refugees across Europe. ??Find out more about Indigo Volunteers, and what you can do to make a difference in the lives of refugees: https://lnkd.in/eixGmTEB

?? With increasing numbers of refugees being evicted from the islands' Hotspot camps, many are arriving in Athens desperately seeking stable housing and employment. After enduring long waiting times in remote camps, these individuals receive minimal assistance from the government to integrate into their new surroundings and society. Critical needs such as learning opportunities, support with acquiring necessary documentation, and guidance on accessing the local job market are sorely lacking. At ECHO HUB, we are committed to filling these gaps. We provide a safe and supportive environment where refugees can access essential services like language and IT classes, CV-writing workshops, and vocational training. Additionally, we offer a wealth of information about other NGOs in Athens that may support their various needs. Join us in making a tangible difference. Your support is crucial in helping refugees rebuild their lives and integrate into the community. Donate, partner with us, and be part of the solution. ?? Urgent: Refugee Services Halted—Your Support Needed Dear Friends, We are writing to share an urgent and deeply concerning update regarding refugee services in the United States. On Friday, the administration issued a sweeping directive halting all federally funded services for refugees already in the country, including critical support for Afghans who risked their lives aiding U.S. efforts during the war. This decision follows an executive order suspending all new refugee admissions and canceling travel plans for over 10,000 refugees. What This Means: The new directive bars resettlement agencies, like ours, from providing services to refugees within their first three months of arrival—the most critical period for ensuring stability and self-sufficiency. These services include caseworker support, housing assistance, job placement, and other essential resources that help refugees adjust to their new lives in the U.S. This unprecedented move has left tens of thousands of vulnerable individuals, including families and children, without the basic support they need to avoid homelessness, secure employment, or navigate daily life. Why This Matters: Refugees who arrived recently, many just weeks ago, now face the prospect of being completely on their own without guidance or support. Afghan allies, who worked alongside U.S. forces and hold special visas, are also impacted by this suspension, which risks deepening an already dire humanitarian crisis. Resettlement agencies like ours are now unable to fulfill our mission of helping these individuals transition to self-sufficiency. How You Can Help: Donate: Your support can help us provide emergency aid to refugees impacted by this decision. Every dollar helps us meet urgent needs like food, temporary shelter, and transportation. https://lnkd.in/gM8SCEpi Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those who need us the most. Thank you for standing with refugees and with us during this critical time. If you have questions or would like to get involved further, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Warm regards, Seleshi Asfaw, CEO ? ?
