GSTN has issued an Advisory on the Implementation of mandatory mentioning of HSN codes in GSTR-1 & GSTR-1A from January 2025. In Phase 3, there are key enhancements to note: - Mandatory HSN selection via dropdown. - Splitting Table-12 into B2B and B2C tabs for clearer reporting. - Strict value validation with warnings for mismatches, while still allowing filings during the initial phase. The evolution across Phases 1, 2, and 3 shows a progressive journey towards simplifying compliance and ensuring accurate reporting. This rollout aims to set the stage for a robust tax ecosystem. Implementation of mandatory mentioning of HSN codes in GSTR-1 & GSTR 1A 1. HSN reporting: Instead of manual entry, you’ll now select the correct HSN from a dropdown menu. 2. Table 12 is now split into two tabs: B2B and B2C, allowing you to report these supplies separately. 3. New validations for supply values and tax amounts are introduced. However, for now, these validations are in warning mode, filing can be done with warning #gstupdates
