Participated in the Yandex hackathon as a business analyst. The task is to modernize the real site for organizing Yandex corporate events, from product development through business processes, prototype, design to development. We took 3rd place out of 10 teams. Nice. BUT I expected more. I thought Yandex was always wow :) There are no questions about the organization of the hackathon, everything is clear.? The problem turned out to be in the team: graduates of Yandex Practicum with different backgrounds and training levels. Sometimes normal work processes turned into long and unproductive meetings. I was once again convinced how important it is who you work with, whether you managed to catch the “same wave" with your colleagues. For me, this is 50% of the success of the project. Join us this Saturday 3/16 for the SJU ACM x Headstarter AI Hackathon, hosted at St. John's University ?? Work in teams to build an AI project that you can put on your resume, learn how to build AI apps through workshops, and present your project at the end to be judged! The winning team will get to intern at Headstarter during Summer 2024 and the chance to demo their project to Headstarter's investors & advisors including Google Software Engineers & Engineering Directors! If you are worried about lacking experience or not having a team, we gladfully remind you: 1) No experience is required! 2) Solo registrations are welcome, and you will be assigned to a team of 3-4 for the hackathon! 3) There will be two workshops during the hackathon so you can learn how to build an AI app on your own! To me, Internal hackathon I participated changed me in very positive ways: I was inspired to learn more and challenge myself after having worked with people ahead of me. It can also be a very humbling experience I became more confident about my abilities to build things from scratch and get them out there The fast-paced environment of hackathons taught me to be more productive, finding and using the right tools for the task at hand The presentations are awesome in many ways. A good presentation is a quick show of talent, hard work, and genius. There's a lot to learn from this combination. I always go away with new ideas, new knowledge, and increased awareness of tools and concepts that will help me get my job done in the future.

This is the future of input for #XR then all devices. Away from camera based systems that need to see your hands and opens up ability for multi-modal micro-gestures. This also opens up the possibility of a personal alphabet and large spatial action models. Can’t wait to jump into input as a service.
