Victories. We all need them - big and small. For some it is landing the big contract, receiving an industry award, joining a new company or getting that promotion you have been working so hard towards. Through hard work, we at Veritas Studio Wines have achieved some big victories - “BEST OF” from a local magazine four years running; Yes, sales are strong, despite the industry being sluggish; and I cannot believe it - we will celebrate our 10th anniversary this October. I am lucky - as we also receive little victories almost every day. Sure, I am simply doing my job the way I do it - which includes greeting customers with a handshake or a hug, a conversation about work, or the kids. And then down to business and picking tonight’s wine. I remember a lunch I had with an old boss at Madison Square Garden. After an hour or so of catching up over gnocchi and Chianti - explaining what I do, and the day-to-day tasks involved with being a wine merchant - my lunch partner folded his napkin and asked “What is the best thing about what you do?” Taking a moment - my answer needed to be spot on. “The best thing about what I do (pausing)… is that I am involved with my customer’s most important decision of their day” - - “What wine to pair with dinner, to celebrate a promotion, to welcome over an old friend, to patch things up with their better half.” He seemed very satisfied with my response. It is true - at Veritas Studio Wines - we help complete people’s day on an up note - with a nice glass of wine - to unwind, relax, and reward. Yes - Best Wine Shop in Hell’s Kitchen is great - Sales growth, media coverage, celebrating our 10th year this Fall - all fantastic. But the thanks we get from our customers on a day-to-day basis, means as much to us, if not more. So the next time you’re looking for that big victory that may only come once a year - don’t ignore the little ones - They add up. Cheers.

Last week, I attended the Tyson Foods Carrier Conference in Springdale, AR. I've been to over 10 shipper-hosted carrier events this year, and the ones that drive the most value, in my opinion ??, are those that: 1?? Present on Transportation Strategy and Initiatives Tyson did a fantastic job driving this home in several presentations. Getting access to this type of information gives providers the opportunity to be true partners for years to come. 2?? Present Market Insights, Both Biased and Unbiased A company-led forecast on sales and the transportation market, complemented by a guest economist, drives balanced discussions. I find that economists from local universities often excel at presenting engaging, even humorous, perspectives. 3?? Host a Q&A Panel with Transportation Executives Ulta Beauty did a great job covering questions collected during registration and opening the floor for live Q&A. This approach drives transparent discussions, with planners, managers and providers all actively participating—an openness rare in these events. ? Whether you're in sales or account management, take these carrier conferences seriously. First, I truly believe that this brand is one of the best tasting energy drinks on the market. I am committed to making sure this brand is growing and is available across the country in all our leading retailers. If this product is not available, how can they experience the brand. I wake up every day energized to find ways for our retail partners to bring on ZOA Energy. BDE is a mindset that I carry across the organization to inspire others. 2. What is your favorite thing about working at ZOA? Definitely the people and the culture that has been developed here over the last 3 years. I come to work energized by the folks that surround me every day. By far, this has been the most fun and rewarding job I have had. Make no mistake, it's never easy but coming to work everyday here has been a moment in time that I will never forget. 3. If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? It would have to be pasta. Any type. I cannot imagine not having an option in a meal selection that does not have pasta. I absolutely loved my mom’s homemade pasta sauce. 4. What is your favorite ZOA flavor and why? Frosted Grape. Can’t really figure out why, as grape has never really been a favorite flavor of mine but I LOVE ZOA Frosted Grape. 5. What is your biggest Big Dwayne Energy moment? Two moments stick out for me. First would be our XFL tie in with HEB. We had the opportunity for our founders meet and greet at HEB in-store and then experienced the XFL championship game with all in San Antonio. Second would be a most recent win, bringing Albertsons Companies on board nationally. I enjoy hosting prospective new partners for tours at Circle Beverage. Is it a time commitment? Yes. Is it the most effective way to test for a two-way fit? Absolutely. They key is to determine how early or late in the process this should happen. Too soon? Then you open yourself up to numerous visits & time commitments with prospective clients that aren't a good fit, and could have been disqualified in a more efficient manner. Too late? Then you miss the opportunity to strike a real partnership and potentially lose a great partner. Discerning when to insert this into our relationship-building process is critical. #contractmanufacturing #beverageindustry #supplychain
