Here at Marshall Sylver's Turning Point seminar in Las Vegas, I learned how to chop a board in two with my bare hand. I never thought I could do such a thing! It actually taught me, and reinforced, a lot about what I do as a mediator. When we mediate, yes, we can move mountains -- or chop boards -- not with brute force, but with strength intelligently applied. As you'll see in the video Liz Ryan took, Marshall taught us the magic -- prepare, then strike at just the right spot, in the center of the board going with the grain, and then follow through. So in mediation. It doesn't take brute force to settle cases. It takes an intense focus on the right spots, no more power than necessary, and following through to negotiate and settle the case. I'm learning a lot about success, and about myself, at this seminar. Have you ever had an experience like this? (Spoiler alert -- tomorrow, we will discuss fire-eating.)
My husband Jeff Kichaven is my hero. Look what he did today in Las Vegas at the Marshall Sylver Turning Point seminar.

You can’t say “Do XYZ to increase the surface area of luck”. Luck is not that controllable. Luck is where and when you’re born. Therefore, do not cry too much over situations that are not in control. Do not get over-excited when things go well that were not essentially triggered by your effort. Instead of relying on luck, what if we were able to recognise what is repeatable and then double down on that? Because we certainly cannot repeat luck. Focus on what you can: hard work and smart choices. Those are the real winners. What's your success formula? #winning #luck #luckarea #hardship
