The DEF CON 32 panel "Responding to Breaches, Ransomware, and State-Sponsored Threat Actors" is finally up on YouTube! ?? Held by the Adversary Village, moderated by Abhijith, and joined by fellow panelists ken kato, Nikhil Mittal, and Adam Pennington, we talked about in-the-wild observed attacks from advanced nation-state threat actors and #APTs. They attack a wide variety of organizations -- from SMBs to governments, non-profits to Fortune 500s -- with ferocious intensity, and "basic" cyber hygiene can stop many of these tactics. However, those "basic" controls can be incredibly difficult for many blue-teamers to implement against unintentional roadblocks -- so what can the modern infosec professional do to stop an adversary that's determined to get in? My favorite question was the individual who asked which was the greater threat -- script kiddies or APTs? ?? Great question, and great responses from everyone! Thank you so much again for having me, ABX! It was truly a pleasure. PS: Special thanks to Lillian Ash Baker for finding the link and letting me know! https://lnkd.in/eDcsP8wK
