The AI development is impressive! We can misuse new technologies - there is always a danger, and even more so here. For me, however, the benefits of this development still outweigh the risks.

I had the privilege of attending an insightful talk hosted by Columbia Engineering featuring Yann LeCun, the VP & Chief AI Scientist at Meta, a Turing Award winner, and a pioneer in artificial intelligence. His groundbreaking work has shaped the AI landscape we see today ?? During the session, he explored the potential for AI to reach human-level intelligence and discussed how AI assistants can help us tackle everyday tasks more efficiently. Concepts like zero-shot learning and hierarchical planning were fascinating, showing how AI can learn, reason, and plan in ways that mimic human thought processes. He also pointed out the limitations of auto-regressive large language models (LLMs), which generate outputs without planning. This emphasizes the need for Objective-Driven AI, which can better understand and reason about the world ?? LeCun highlighted Moravec's paradox, where simple tasks for humans can be quite challenging for AI and vice versa. The key to overcoming this is improving AI’s sensory inputs and combining current perception with memory ??
