https://lnkd.in/emFhNsHw This is a really clever idea from TV2 in-house creative department headed up by Chaga Signe Not only does it make people more aware of fake news, it also alerts SVT2 to what people see as news on social media so that they can uncover the truth #adland.

You hardly ever hear a conversation about mental health these days without social media coming up. Should schools ban mobiles, should platforms do more, should parents have access to their children's phones, is it okay to hide behind a fake online identity, are our politicians leading by example... To me, progress seems to be hindered by everyone looking to someone else for solutions when, in reality, there are many answers and they are not mutually exclusive - surely we can ban phones during school hours and simultaneously expect better processes for content vetting on the platforms...? Social media at its best is both useful and entertaining - but as per the clip from my fellow Danes below, we have to start with ,and stand up for, the truth. So, while we wait for the Zuckerbergs and Musks of the world to step up, we can all take personal responsibility for making social media a safer and happier space for all. Be kind (yes, even to the people you disagree with ??) and speak the truth or, just occasionally, hold your peace! #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek #BeKind #Truth

UK communications regulator Ofcom has published research today that shows that television is declining as the primary source of news and entertainment. While adults aged 45-years-old and older still watch television as the default device at home, those who are 16-years-old to 24-years-old prefer YouTube. The social media channel has evolved from users posting amateur videos to a platform hosting mainstream content from news to sport to film in most languages. YouTube also hosts educational and instructional content and continues to allow anyone to set up a video channel. Next to YouTube, UK broadcast media consumers are listening to the radio more. Audience figures have reached a 20-year high according to Ofcom. Image credit: YouTube

This I had to share for its creativity ????. Fake news is a global issue, that in PNG ???? there are talks to consider measures to filter the type of content citizens see. The message in this campaign is simple, even if it is to simply raise awareness. Do not trust everything you read on FB, and other social media platforms, trust the news, delivered to you by journalists who fact-check! Looking foward to seeing organisations like the PNG Department of Information and Communications Technology partner with local media in a similar way with their ongoing campaigns to address 'disinformation and misinformation'. We can also do our part by being concious of what we share on social media platforms including LinkedIn. Let's all continue to champion the media as a trusted source of information.

"Your network, your responsibility!" and one more reason to like Denmark! #FakeNews on social media platforms destroy trust in established media formats and it is easier than ever to create and spread them. Major platforms must take #responsibility and stop flushing false and anti-democratic news into the timelines of their users.?The so-called "official rape day" is just one of the recent examples that showcase how much damage misinformation can do. An important appeal to all social media platforms to promote security, restrict #falseinformation and take action against accounts that spread it on a large scale. But the platforms' move is just one way of combating fake news. What do you think? Is it a good move??
