Just a friendly reminder. Don't feel guilty about needing rest. It's necessary in order to be there for yourself and others.

When I was a kid, we didn’t run to the doctor at every sneeze, fever, or vomit. We “rubbed some dirt on it and walked it off.” In fact, as a teen I crawled to the phone to ask my grammy what could be wrong with me because my stomach hurt too bad to walk. She said I might have appendicitis, and I needed to go to the hospital which I promptly did with my sissy. I laugh at these memories now, but at the time, hobbling around after possibly breaking my ankle while attempting (and failing miserably) to slide into third base was anything but funny. My point is that seeking professional help was typically a last resort, and I carried that forward throughout my life. Even more ignored are the invisible illnesses that quietly linger, gradually bubbling to the surface— depression, anxiety, eating disorder, alcohol abuse, etc. These conditions are more difficult to know when to seek professional help, but there are clear signs that indicate it's time to reach out: · Persistent symptoms that interfere with daily life · Trouble concentrating · Difficulty in relationships and work performance/attendance · Changes in physical symptoms like digestive, cognitive, headaches, etc. When to Seek Immediate Help: · Thoughts of self-harm, suicide, or harming others · Severe physical symptoms (e.g., fainting, chest pain, blackouts) · Risky behavior like driving under the influence · Drastic weight loss, malnutrition, or dehydration Seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. All INFJs go through this and this is how many of our relationships sadly end up. We attract narcissists until we finally wake up. Can take decades, but this saves our life. ?? Until then, we make our life about others and emotionally support them as we think they are friends & love & care for us too. Untrue. ?? They instead treat us like we are only acquaintances not worth investing in (use, abuse, throw away & return to if they need something). ?? They don't offer us any emotional support in return. They get used to this & it stabilizes their lives. They also use what we share as ammunition for their flying monkeys at the detriment of our life. ?? After months, years or even decades of this treatment (25 years was the longest for us with an ex), they start fading to black. ?? They start to feel like how they made us feel (like an object & not a fellow human being with feelings). We sometimes deploy a severe DOOR SLAM as a last resort to save our sanity from their lack of empathy. ?? These actions are not from malice or revenge, but come from just being drained. Our empathy, that wasn't appreciated, has run dry because nothing was returned to us to refill it. We can no longer offer from an empty cup. ?? They become acquaintances & we invest nothing emotionally in them anymore. We aren't mean or callous, just distant & removed from the entire situation. We just shut down. ?? We were never written into their Book of Life & we have now accepted this & left the stage. We now just watch the characters. Uninterested & bored of the games being played. ?? Over time we see that they were leeches, narcissists & hypocrites that never had our best interests in mind. Only sought to ruin & destroy us too if they were socio or psychopathic. They've tried too. Cuckoo! ?? Focus then goes inward & a Spiritual Path is taken in absolute solitude & we start living our best life. ALONE but never lonely for the first time. Have now for eight years as of 2025. ?? We then start living a more fulfilling life because we have cleaned house, set firm boundaries & no longer seek to save those who can't save themselves. Our empathy cup runneth over, but not for them. ?? Depending on the severity of the situation & the Door Slam, we may return but it won't be the same. More often than not you will never see us again. ?? Such is the strength of love, forgiveness and letting go so others can deal with their Dark Night of the Soul which we were only exposed to. Not our pain. ?? Christ broke bread with those that society hated (tax collectors) but not who hated or who betrayed Him. Sadly, there was a Judas in His midst at the Last Supper. For us, we won't break bread with Judases. Who would? ?? Moved on, gone away, & left. Time for you to go find some new supply. This One never believed your lies. We were waiting for you to realize you could save yourself. ?? You never needed or wanted us in your life & we were just a season & it has passed. So goodbye ... ??????

Highly recommend this book
an untypical enterprise consultant, helping people and organisations deal with uncertainty - sometimes a tiger striped chaise lounge with a flamingo cushion.
For anyone who made New Years' Resolutions, but is starting to doubt that they'll be able to keep the habits needed for them going - know that those doubts may actually be your superpower in helping you achieve more than you thought you could! https://lnkd.in/dWAkd46a?
