?????? ?????????????????? ?????????? ??????????????????! ?? Just a week after my first Hackathon, I dove into another, organized by the?ACM Illinois Institute of Technology?last Sunday. Our challenge? Create a Chicago-themed project in 9 hours. Our solution: "Chicago City Whispers", offering instant, tailored touristic suggestions highlighting the city's hidden gems, providing travelers with authentic experiences that go beyond the usual attractions. ?? This idea came to me after?Chenglong Wu Yang?and I spent countless hours crafting the perfect itinerary for our family's visit next month. Frustrated by the generic options on various travel sites and the wasted time, we brought this idea to life in the hackathon by developing a custom database, prompt engineering OpenAI's GPT 3.5 LLM, integrating it to our web app, and leveraging Google Maps API to show the recommendations! One of the images attached spotlights Chicago's Pedway System, a hidden marvel that often is unnoticed by tourists and locals. This extensive network of tunnels and overhead bridges provides a unique subterranean pathway linking over 40 city blocks - perfect for navigating Chicago's infamous winds and chills. My heartfelt thanks to the ACM team for organizing this successful event and to?Thomas Wagner, Sovannratana Khek?for their help in building this project! It was an honor teaming up with such talented individuals! Celebrating the spirit of teamwork, innovation, and continuous learning. ? PS. Although we did not make it into the top 3 positions, the experience was invaluable, and we didn't leave empty-handed! ?? We took home some amazing (and delicious) food! ????
