OncoBiotica introduces an innovative approach to precision oncology by targeting tumor-associated microbes, offering an alternative to conventional cancer therapies that focus on cancer cell biomarkers. Our two-phase mechanism leverages a fusion protein to bind tumor-specific microbes and activate a prodrug, transforming it into a chemotherapeutic agent directly at the tumor site. To validate this, we used colorectal cancer and Fusobacterium nucleatum as our model system. Through collaborative efforts, including expert consultations, lab research, and hardware development, we successfully engineered a functional fusion protein, refined it through mutant variants, and developed MAIK, a cost-effective system for drug testing. Additionally, our education platform, AlphaFold Decoded, fosters understanding of AI in structural biology, empowering the next generation of scientists. With modularity, scalability, and global accessibility at its core, OncoBiotica offers a promising future for personalized cancer treatment.
