Broken, Broken, Broken! Value Analysis has become a GPO rubber stamp. Get back to real Value Analysis where health systems begin to enjoy “realized savings “ not “proposed savings”. Where quality of care is seen through products chosen by evidence of superiority and physicians are “all” engaged. Where patients realize improved quality recognized through metrics such as reduced morbidly, mortality, better birth outcomes, reduced nosocomial infections, & an overall improved risk position when compared against other high income countries. GPOs must get out of Value Analysis. Take it back to the health system level where it works! Value Analysis has to stop being a contract compliance issue & become a physician centric patient care initiative again.
We are proud to celebrate Value Analysis Week and recognize the work of Premier's Value Analysis Committees dedicated to ensuring healthcare cost efficiency. These committees consist of healthcare professionals from our member hospitals, and we are grateful for their collaboration and expertise.
