The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) today announced that ACEEE and a team of partners was selected to receive $3.6 million to work with six states to develop and adopt stronger residential building energy codes. With three sets of progressively stronger codes, the effort will culminate with codes that achieve zero-emissions new homes.? In coalition with Enterprise Community Partners, NASEO - National Association of State Energy Officials, and the New Buildings Institute, ACEEE will work with California, Colorado, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, and Washington to adopt and implement cutting-edge building codes for new homes, significantly lowering utility bills for residents.
