For industrial and manufacturing processes and facilities, the Engineering Excellence State Award goes to Terracon for Hyundai Motor Group Meta Plant America. The Hyundai Motor Group Meta Plant America is the largest industrial development in Georgia and will be the only plant in the US that mass produces both electric cars and their batteries. From the initiation of the project, Terracon was the leader in the geographical study of the proposed site. Providing foundation design and ground improvement recommendations for all buildings and infrastructure and conducted quality control testing during construction. The overall project success took stellar work from Hayne Architecture, civil and structural engineers Thomas and Hutton, Hussey, Gay Bell, Gresham, Smith and Haynes, Gibson and Associates leading construction. Terracon stands out as the only US firm that provided services from project start. To finish helping make state-of-the-art manufacturing a reality in Georgia.
