According to data from Xclusiv Shipbrokers Inc., Greece-based owners ordered 171 vessels between January and August 2024, compared with 182 ships during the same period last year – a slight decrease of 6.0%. This decline is primarily due to a sharp drop in bulk carrier contracts, despite notable increases in orders for gas carriers and container vessels.
