After 10 years of having to put my CTRS and Licensure in RT on hold.. I have officially taken it off the back burner and will prepare and test! :) Any advice from current CTRS's and LRT's??!! What study materials out there are truly the most helpful to pass this exam??!!

From Eng Tony; Good evening members, Our professionals (Engineers, Technologists and Technicians) are currently facing a challenge at UIPE and ERB like the high cost of CPDs and draconian barriers to registration and yet many members have expressed that registering with these bodies provides sentimental value and increased opportunities for jobs, contracts, exposure etc. Currently one CPD costs over 700,000ugx at UIPE and one needs minimum of 3 to be eligible for registration so one can end up spending over 4 million ugx in the process of registration. On top of that, the Technical report writing and approval section of the registration is mired with many irregularities making writing and approving of your report to take upto 1 - 2 yrs. This we need to change because: 1. Many FETU members are also members of UIPE and ERB and vice versa and for the betterment of the profession we need to work to improve these processes. 2. We are all Engineers Technologists and Technicians no matter which body, religion, skin color or flag you ascribe to. 3. This is impeding progress of many professionals causing many to lose job opportunities, contracts because they're not registered with these bodies, thus casting a dark shadow on many careers. 4. There is no clear reason as to why the registration is so expensive and take so long. 5. . The list of reasons is endless... Why should registration be so expensive, and take so long? Life is too short to spend years registering. Because of all these reasons and more, We as the Federation should not stay silent while our people suffer. Which is why we should begin the process of lobbying these bodies together with our members over there to lower the cost of these CPDs and ease the registration process. Thank you.
