What a journey it has been so far! I had the chance to start my professional career in the banking space with managing great and unique projects - such as the introduction of euro banknotes and coins for a great french bank, card payments, digitisation of the trade finance value chain and crossborder transfers for individual customers. When I was in charge of international relations at the French banking association, in the middle of the financial turnmoil of 2008 - the guy in charge of the state program to provide funding to the banks was next door at the office. I had the opportunity to visit many of the places were ??big?? decisions are taken which have an impact at the region and national levels in Europe, the United States, the Middle East and Africa. As an entrepreneur, I re-started from scratch. I understand now I had to prove - as a person - I was really owning the skills and expertise that reflect on my CV. My rich career and experiences were no longer a burden to get a salaried position - but were becoming an opportunity. Today, after the cozy and comfortable places, I am supporting the teams in the field in the markets of informal vendors promoting mobile money, here in Luanda, Angola. And acting as an agent myself, very basically sending money through USSD mode to the beneficiaries of our trainings - for the USAID Angola Dingeiro Digital E Melhor Activity. The Government of #Sweden has committed $4.8 million to the African Development Bank’s Capital Markets Development Trust Fund (CMDTF) to drive the growth and integration of African #CapitalMarkets. This funding, through the Swedish International Development Cooperation (SIDA) Agency, will support several strategic initiatives, including bringing legal and regulatory frameworks into line with international best practices, modernising capital markets infrastructure, development of innovative financial products and making markets more accessible to the private sector. In addition to deepening integration and harmonisation of capital market networks across Africa, these steps are also expected to boost mobilisation of resources to finance key sectors of African economies. Initiative, ideas and private sector drive to create jobs are not lacking in Africa. But capital, especially long term financing, is scarce and therefore expensive.
