Freedom isn’t free. It’s a reminder for us to take stock of what we are doing to give back for the ultimate sacrifice of so many. Let’s not forget those that pass on our watch when they come back home. Did you know that suicide is the second-leading cause of death for post-9/11 veterans? Shockingly, 131k soldiers have died by suicide since 2001. We owe it to them to do better. Join us in supporting Stop Soldier Suicide, an organization dedicated to preventing military suicide. Learn more about their work and how you can help: https://lnkd.in/eMDCikTg. Let’s show our gratitude and give back to those who have given so much. Together, we can stop the stigma around mental health and suicide prevention for veterans. #gratitude #giveback #Veterans #mentalhealth #suicideprevention #Veteransmentalhealth #stopthestigma

Veterans put their lives on the line for us and our country, but are we doing everything we can to help them recover from the invisible wounds of war? PTSD, traumatic brain injuries (TBIs), and other traumas are fueling a suicide epidemic that claims the lives of roughly 20 veterans per day. For years, this statistic has persisted, but at VETS, we believe in a different future. We’re on a mission to break this cycle, driven by the unwavering belief that groundbreaking psychedelic therapies hold the promise to bring about real change. https://vetsolutions.org/ #psychedelictherapy #mentalhealth #veterans #military #brainresearch?

???? Reflecting on Remembrance Day and Supporting Our Veterans ???? I chose not to post last week in respect for Remembrance Day. As a military brat, I wanted to make sure we kept the focus on honoring the sacrifices of our veterans and active service members. With Remembrance Day still fresh in our minds, it's crucial to recognize the unique mental health challenges service members face. Veterans and active military personnel are 1.5 times more likely to attempt or commit suicide compared to non-military individuals. This is why supporting causes like Movember is so essential. Mental health and suicide prevention are core pillars of the Movember Foundation’s mission, and initiatives like these can truly make a difference. While thanking military members is important, actively supporting mental health resources and suicide prevention programs goes a step further in giving back. If you, or someone you know, is in crisis, please reach out: 1-833-456-4566 to connect with a crisis responder. Let’s support our veterans, active military, families, friends, and ourselves by prioritizing mental health year-round. ?? https://lnkd.in/dDx33AP5 #RemembranceDay #MentalHealth #SuicidePrevention #Movember #SupportOurVeterans

#ForMany veterans, the effects of military trauma can make the transition to civilian life anything but easy. Without our help, lives can become desperate. Anxiety, anger, depression, isolation, alcohol and drug misuse, and in some cases suicide – all can tear families apart, destroy relationships and devastate lives. 2 周Thank you for helping families affected by addiction. I’m the spouse of an adult child of an alcoholic mother who never sought help and was enabled by her husband. Intervention now hopefully keeps children from becoming adult children of addiction.
