MBSR Course: ?? June 5 - 24 July ?? 7.30-9.30pm A lovely description of my MBSR from one of my participants: This course runs over eight weeks and Kate teaches how the principles and practices of mindfulness can be highly effectively used to bring about stress reduction. The course runs through practical exercises, both long and short and whole group and smaller group discussions. Feedback, questions and discussions follow the exercises. The exercises are pre-recorded and one listens to Kate’s voice giving gentle guidance throughout the tape. Kate’s voice is soothing and easy to listen to repeatedly. All the recorded exercises are made available to course participants, enabling continued practice away from the course. There are 45 pages of supporting student notes in a comprehensive booklet, available electronically for each participant and further resources are listed. Each week beneficial, enjoyable, and relaxing exercises/activities are set for participants to do away from the class. In summary, this is an excellent and very enjoyable course. In life coaching, there is an element of behavioural retraining requiring mindfulness, in business coaching, the same, but with even more added mindfulness, and in spiritual coaching, there is a more esoteric application, which expands the mind even further All need the body to function and, although I've never heard of a somatic coach, they might exist, and I suspect that also includes an element of mindfulness Most processes and practices require an understanding of the mind. All skills, talents, superpowers and genius arise in the mind Our current reality exists as it is as a result of people's ideas, which are closely linked to thoughts, dreams and memories from the mind And the final kicker is the fact that the vulnerability of the childhood mind forms the personality Mindfulness is not enough. It requires a holistic approach to do transformation work That is why I call it conscious coaching ?? #holistic #alchemy #transformation #shinebright
