Even though civility at this time among our fellow citizens, non lawyers may be on the decline, as lawyers we have a duty to the justice system to act with civility because lawyers are different. Professionalism is broader because it's about upholding the integrity of the profession by adhering to the rules of professional conduct. And those are the rules under which we can be disciplined if we fall below their minimum standards.
