When maintaining infrastructure, it's crucial to choose solutions that both protect the surroundings and ensure stable operations. For Greater Copenhagen's utility company, HOFOR, this meant renovating a pipeline running through a garden allotment – a task that not only required solving the issue but doing so without impacting traffic or the nearby private areas. In this case, relining made perfect sense. We managed to handle the water in the pipeline without interrupting daily operations, and with an 800-meter long liner, we could renovate the pipe in one go without needing to open multiple manholes ?? - and without causing traffic problems on on the local ring road. The project was further complicated by the nearby light rail project that had a permit in the area. This made access conditions more challenging, but with the right planning and coordination, we ensured that the work was completed efficiently and without delays. By choosing relining over traditional pipe replacement, we also saved the climate from 516.3 tons of CO2. This CO2 savings was calculated using the Kaffka model, developed by independent third parties to ensure precise and transparent environmental data ?? The liner for this project was transported on an impressive trailer with 19 axles, 50 meters in length, and a total weight of 240 tons ??.
