? NEW SEASON ALERT ?? A Win For Safety: Season 2 Kickoff! Welcome to Season 2 “A Win For Safety” … the podcast that is working to shift the conversation from what went wrong, to what actually went right when it comes to safety in the world around us; a collection of bite-sized examples of safety excellence that are designed to share, motivate, educate, and inspire us all! Why do I do this podcast? Because no news isn’t good news: no news is just no news ??. Only good news is good news and bringing that to life starts with a conversation .. a conversation I want you to have, so I have researched, interviewed, and created short snippets of safety brilliance and innovation so you can learn from others and gain permission – or at least a starting point – for a conversation of your own. ??This episode can be found at: https://lnkd.in/gmeHXQmd? ?? Check out Season 1 episodes while-you-wait for the next installment of “A Win For Safety”, due next week. All episodes of ‘A Win For Safety’ can be found at: https://lnkd.in/gaNy32XK Thanks for joining me on this journey to celebrate the things that go right, in safety, around the world!? Cheers!!

If you're working on being more assertive, here's something that should help. Pick up your pen and I'll explain... Imagine the writing end of the pen is 'passive', and the clicker end is 'aggressive'. What you're going for, 'assertive' is probably somewhere in the middle. When you are practising assertiveness (and I think it is a practice) keep your pen handy and check in, where do I want to be on my pen in this interaction? Put your finger on that place and notice what that would be like in that interaction. Using an external physical prompt is powerful support - in this case the pen is mightier than the sword ?? In our latest podcast episode, episode 193, Chad Hayenga and Jim Jackson dive into the concept of 'accidental rewards' and how our reactions can unintentionally encourage unwanted behavior. Jim reminds us of the basis of our posture towards our children: 'Our kids are nested in grace, the grace of safety, the grace of love that is unchanging, unwavering, no matter how they behave.' Discover how to shift from frustrated reactions to genuine engagement and transform challenging moments into opportunities for connection and growth. I can't believe I am typing this, but the first episode of Barely Balanced is FINALLY out :) I NEVER in my wildest dreams imagined I'd have a podcast of my own. From the girl who was super shy to even ask a doubt in her class to the one who spoke in front of the camera, for everyone to see - it feels so surreal :") And to be honest, all of this wouldn't have happened if I hadn't started content creation on LinkedIn. LinkedIn helped me meet Shruti (the co-host) and also connected me with a community that supports me at every step (can't count the no. of messages I got about the podcast :")). So here it is, a dream I didn’t even know I had, coming to life. Episode 1 is live! (Link in the comments) Go check it out, and I hope it makes you smile, learn something new, or maybe even feel a little less alone in your own LinkedIn journey :) P.S.: would start bringing in guests from the 2nd episode, wanted the 1st one to be just us :P P.P.S.: feel free to give any suggestions for improvements. will try to work upon them :)

Have you ever shared a joke about pronouns, thinking it was harmless or even supportive? Many people don’t realize that jokes about pronouns, even when well-intentioned, can undermine the lived experiences of those who are fighting to be seen and respected for who they are. In my latest podcast episode, ? “Why Pronouns Aren’t a Punchline,” ? I talk about how humor can unintentionally hurt the very people we aim to support. So many of us participate in group settings where pronouns are shared, and it’s important to understand why it’s not the place for jokes. Watch the highlight reel to get a glimpse of what we discuss, then listen to the full episode to learn how you can be a more supportive ally. If this message resonates with you, please share it. We can help create spaces where everyone feels respected and seen.

How do you pitch yourself to be on a podcast without sounding sleazy? Well, after sending 380 pitches in 4 months, here’s what I’ve learned: Hosts don’t care about you. They don’t care about who you are, what you do, what you achieved, or what topics you like to talk about. And this is great news! It removes the pressure from you ?? You don’t need to awkwardly self-promote yourself. So, what do the hosts really care about? They care about themselves! They care about being cared about (by you and by others). They care about being valued and supported. Knowing this, here’s something you can implement today: Choose a podcast you’d really want to be featured on, and click “play” on the latest episode. Listen to the first 5 minutes (or more, if you want!) at 1.5x speed (or even 2x, if the participants speak slowly). Once you hear something that sparks your attention, write it down. This will be the intro to your pitch email! Say something like “I especially like when you said…”, and then quickly expand on how it impacted you. This simple step will completely remove the “sleaziness” out of your pitch, and make you stand out from all the spam hosts receive daily. Once I discovered this, I immediately received responses like the one in the image below. Yes, it takes longer than simply sending a templated email focused on you… But it feels so much better, and the results are incomparable. Cheers, Tiago "never feel sleazy again" Faria

What do Christy Carlson Romano, Lindsay Lohan, & Danielle Fishel have in Common? Could it be a genius “re-launch” strategy? These?child stars are reigniting their relationships with their audiences. But… How are they doing it? Podcasts. Step 1: Launch a podcast? Step 2: Relate it back to your childhood point of influence - “That’s so Raven” “Boy Meets World” “Kim possible”? Step 3: Share all of the behind the scenes from these on set moments, as well as updates on your life now And there you have it, an easy three step system to get grown adults excited to hear from their favourite childhood stars. Who do you think will be next to launch a pod, or more importantly who would you listen to? P.S. Fingers crossed it’s Hillary Duff.
