? NEW EPISODES ALERT ?? A Win For Safety is walking away out of the Beaconsfield Mine collapse giving the ??. When you think of a mine collapse I’m pretty sure that “what went right” isn’t exactly the first thing that comes to your mind. But in the case of the 2006 Beaconsfield Mine Rescue in Tasmania, Australia, perhaps it should be. Why? Because there were so many wins for safety, I had to split this magnificent story into a two-part podcast. ??This incredibly story begins at: https://lnkd.in/gBhFFxpF? ?? ‘A Win For Safety’ is a collection of short stories that the busy safety professional can squeeze into their day to listen to, and then hopefully incorporate into their world to share with others. A new episode is released every 2nd Wednesday. Learning from when things go right is a passion of mine! I’ll uncover it, you listen to it, and through storytelling we can show people that things can be done the safe way now, because it has been done the safe way before. Then, together we can show others how to have ‘A Win for Safety’ of their own. All episodes of ‘A Win For Safety’ can be found at: https://lnkd.in/gaNy32XK Thanks for joining me! Cheers!!

Here's a snippet from an interview with crisis communications expert Doug Levy, who has given a lot of thought to what needs to be done immediately when things go wrong. Having worked on crises for several decades, I can attest that the speed of problems arising that need public responses is accelerating greatly. For example, iQ 360 has been involved with the fires in Maui almost from the start; most of the challenges that used to take weeks or months to appear all emerged within the first week.

Hello, I’m Jay Nicoll from Nicoll Investigations and I’m here to tell you about some of the upcoming episodes of Ontario Cold Cases - The Podcast. At 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7th, 1975, 4-year-old Cameron March, described as a happy, very smart boy, vanished while playing in front of or near his home at 5349 Blind Line Rd. near Colling Rd., in Lowville, Ont., a village 40 km southwest of Toronto. In the days following, hundreds of searchers, including police, search dogs, and volunteers, scoured the nearby countryside for any trace of the boy. Firefighters drained area ponds, without result. Tips investigated by police included the sighting of a white and green car parked near the boy’s home around the time he disappeared, a red sedan spied in the area, and the sighting of a bearded man walking up and down Blind Line Rd. at about the same time. Advice for finding builders ?? Trevor Thorn has been a small Housebuilder and contractor his whole career. His approach is the same as mine - He’s straight-up and will tell you how it is. There are a lot of people that will just tell you what you want to hear, either because they’re talking out of their arses and don’t know any better, or often they’re just trying to get a foot in the door. Either way, honesty is the best policy, even though it can sometimes make it harder to beat the BS ‘competition’. If you’re a landowner or someone employing builders or contractors, listening to the B*ll***ters will end in tears. I'm excited to announce "When it Hits the Fan", Lane County's newly-minted monthly emergency management podcast series aimed at the general public. Shoutout to our fabulous public information officer and podcast developer Devon Ashbridge for getting this project off the ground. Each month, we will spend 15-20 minutes diving into a variety of topics geared toward getting our residents prepared for the next emergency. Our kickoff episode introduces the show and covers some basics to get us rolling: "Welcome! And what the heck is emergency management?" Give a listen-- give us feedback! And if you like it, tune in later this month for our June segment on basic personal preparedness. You can also find us or listen on Apple Podcasts.

My favourite part here is the OHS guy who, with a colleague, breached mine safety protocol and went down to the level where Brant and Todd had last been seen, and ended up making first contact with them. Here’s to you OHS Officer Rex Johnson! ??
