Gubra has been selected as B?rsen B?redygtig Case 2024 – we are grateful for the acknowledgment! Alongside our efforts to reduce our footprint on nature and climate, Gubra has committed to donating 10% of pre-tax profits to nature and climate projects. This commitment has led us to sponsor, donate, and invest approximately 38 million Danish kroner in green initiatives since 2019. These funds have been used, among other things, to purchase conventional agricultural land and convert it into forests and nature. At Gubra, we believe that sustainability comes with a price, and we see it as both a goal and a responsibility to give back more to nature and climate than we consume. Mission rewilding: Scotland and Wales are trailblazing Europe’s nature restoration. A pathway to Scotland as a ‘rewilding nation’ was presented to government ministers at a reception last week, which was described as a ‘trailblazing vision of hope’ by the Scottish national paper, The Herald. In Wales, the environmental group Tir Natur launched a crowdfunding campaign last month to raise vital funds for what it describes as Wales’ largest ecosystem restoration project. https://zurl.co/cVhtG

We’re thrilled to announce our new partnership with E.ON Next which is helping The Woodland Trust breathe new life into ancient woods under threat. Ancient woodlands are unique havens for wildlife and crucial carbon sinks, yet our remaining ancient woods cover just 2.5% of the UK and what's left is damaged by non-native trees or threatened by development. Our partnership with energy supplier E.ON Next will help us continue our fight to protect and restore them with a minimum ￡500,000 commitment over the next three years. How will E.ON Next help us restore ancient woodland? When a customer chooses one of their fixed term tariffs a one-off donation will be made to support our work on the ground in the UK's precious ancient woodlands. Ancient woodland restoration is a slow and careful process. ?E.ON Next's donations will help us get more boots on the ground to carry out initial surveys in damaged ancient woods, carry out the work that will revive them, and continue monitoring their progress into the future.
