Living in Houston has been an incredible journey for this small-town girl from Lansing, Michigan. While I miss my family, the excitement of seeing change and growth every day brings a constant smile to my face. It’s a powerful reminder that embracing change is essential for personal and professional development.

With a diverse economy that spans energy, healthcare, aerospace, and technology, the opportunities here are endless. The city's workforce is among the youngest and most diverse in the nation, making it a vibrant place for innovation and growth.
Change can be daunting, but it's also an opportunity to remodel our lives and ourselves. This transformation is beautiful and should be met with a deep sigh of relief rather than panic. Now, in my mid to late 30s, I look back and realize that growth is a continuous process, and there's no right or wrong answer – just new paths to explore.
Whether it's within our careers or other areas of interest, it's never too late to reinvent ourselves. You can become a lawyer, a doctor, an engineer, or whatever your heart desires. In Houston, the unemployment rate is consistently below the national average, reflecting a robust job market. All it takes is dedication and carving out space for what truly matters to you.
I've learned to let go of anger towards those who don't understand my journey. Instead, I wish them well and move on to bigger, better, and always growing opportunities. Houston is a city brimming with potential – a place where dreams and plans come to life amidst the ever-present hum of construction and innovation.
Houston also boasts the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical complex in the world, and NASA's Johnson Space Center, which continues to push the boundaries of space exploration. These landmarks symbolize the city's commitment to progress and excellence.
This city is my home now, and I cherish it deeply. Houston offers not just a place to network, but a fertile ground for dreams to flourish. If there's one thing I've learned, it's to embrace every opportunity and always keep moving forward.
