WOW, what an experience it was to exhibit at RecFest UK! Where to start, the weather was glorious, the atmosphere was electric and our EVPing game had queues to play all day long (the ping pong balls did well to hang on in there). Watching England win on Wednesday night was definitely a good omen as to how the following day was going to pan out... I got to meet and speak to lots of incredible TA acquisition specialists, and watch them throw ping pong balls at their colleagues heads - and when does that ever happen?! Neil's speaker slot all about the EVP onion and how to develop a comprehensive EVP was insightful and engaging - he explained that the company's EVP has to be not only the communications projected outwardly, but the lived experience of employees too. I have to pinch myself for how fortunate I am for the last 6 weeks with RedKnows - to work with such an incredible team, to learn so much and grow so quickly and to have consistent and abundance support is such a blessing. This weekend, I'll be at the spa getting some R&R with my phone well and truly OFF. If anyone needs me, sending smoke signals or something (although I may mistake it for aromatherapy so maybe don't). #Recfest2024 #recruitment #marketing

A highlight from last year was when my good friend Nick Elston referred me to JW Hinks, to design and deliver a company event. With many of their teams working independently, they needed to bring everyone together to celebrate successes, improve communication, strengthen team relationships and have some engagement and fun. This week, we had the privilege of welcoming Scott Raether to our St. Charles County CAPS Associates team for a transformative workshop centered around the True Colors Personality Quiz. Scott's engaging presentation provided us with a deeper understanding of ourselves and each other, offering a fresh perspective on the diverse personalities within our team. One of the most eye-opening aspects of the workshop was learning how our unconscious biases can shape our perceptions of others. The True Colors framework helped us recognize how easy it is to make assumptions about people, often based on limited information. Scott guided us through this self-discovery process, emphasizing the importance of empathy and the value of taking the time to truly understand our colleagues. A highlight of the session was the interactive activity where we guessed each other's personality colors. It was fascinating to see how our initial guesses often missed the mark. This exercise underscored how complex and multifaceted we all are, challenging our assumptions and encouraging us to look beyond surface-level impressions. Scott Raether’s session was not just a learning experience but a reminder of the rich, diverse tapestry of personalities that make our team unique. By appreciating these differences and striving to understand them, we can foster a more inclusive and harmonious work environment.
