When that designated person leaves, handover that responsibility. 3) Have backups of your accounts in case item 1 or 2 fails. QB Find a ProAdvisor) They hide their real email address by using the anonymity of the referral service. This looks a normal referral, so opening it up would be nothing suspicious. INTRODUCTION: “We're seeking a collaborative partnership to enhance our project managers' and staff's financial management skills. “Specifically, we're looking for CPA/Bookkeeping expertise to support our team's development in financial management, budgeting, and financial reporting for renewable energy projects. REQUEST TO MEET: “We're considering a remote collaboration from December 2nd to 5th. If your team is available and interested, I'd appreciate the opportunity to discuss further project details. CLOSE: “Thank you for your time, and I look forward to the possibility of working together. Best regards, John Q. Public Project Director.” RED FLAGS: INTRODUCTION: 1. No introduction who they are.?“Hi, this is John Q. Public of JQP Consulting,…” 2. A lack of any identifying information.?“We are a ___ company working with ___ …” REQUEST TO MEET: Does their request reflect any awareness of your company? CLOSE: NAME and TITLE only You are to respond through the referral service link so they are still hidden. The preson offers no company ID, URL, email, address, or anything. IF YOU RESPOND, THEIR DIRECT EMAIL ADDRESS WILL LOOK LIKE: [email protected]? [email protected]? [email protected]? [email protected] You cannot search them by their email domain.?If they offer a name, it is probably a stolen ID of someone (like a driver’s license). The offer can be something enticing (this is my 4th request to be scammed), and it can be tempting to follow it up. SUGGESTED RESPONSE: 1. DELETE 2.
