Hello LinkedIn Community, I'm Siddhant, a passionate product professional with experience building two startups focused on the mobility space - a traffic violations reporting startup and a social network of geo-tagged videos captured off the roads. While the COVID-19 pandemic impacted my first startup, my second venture faced challenges, leading me to end my entrepreneurial journey in October 2022. As I navigated this transition, I realized that my skills in ?????????????? development, data-driven decision-making, and user-centric feature creation could significantly contribute to another company's growth in a product role. Since December 2022, I've been actively reaching out to companies and founders across various domains, seeking opportunities to create an impact. However, the market conditions, including the funding winter, the Ukraine conflict, and mass layoffs by the Big tech in the industry, have made it challenging to secure a suitable role. Despite optimizing my resume for ATS (Application Tracking Systems), applying to over 250-300 positions on job portals, and leveraging my network for referrals, I've yet to find the right opportunity. I've even reached out directly to founders, including pitching to a unicorn startup, sharing data-backed insights to delight their users and improve profitability. My parents and some very close group of people have been very supportive amidst all this. I’ve endured a lot and hope to make a bigger purpose from my presence on this planet. And so, 22 months into hunting for an opportunity, I'm turning to this incredible LinkedIn community for support. If you’re a founder looking to get in the game, you need to hire traction addicts. Traction is the oxygen supply of early stage startups. The longer you go without it, the more permanent the damage to team morale and the harder it is to build momentum. 0->1 people are addicted to the dopamine hits unlocked by getting early traction. If your team is happy to keep going without traction, danger! You’re at risk of failing before you even got started. Your status quo is probably too cozy. You probably haven’t hired traction addicts. You hired people who just love building shit. Building shit is easy. Getting traction is hard. Do the hard thing. Especially if it’s uncomfortable. Surround yourself with traction addicts. This is the way.

The secret to assembling a team of A-players: (As someone who's scaled multiple 7-8 fig startups) Hire for character, train for skill. You can teach most people new skills. But you can't teach work ethic, hunger, or passion. You either have them or you don't. And you can tell within 2 minutes of meeting someone. That's why I filter for character not credentials. Skills can come later. But hunger has to be there from day one.
