Mentorship Matters: Lessons Learned and Shared with GenZ ?? Right guidance and mentorship invoke the 'can do' attitude. Recently, I had the privilege to visit a college and share my experience with GenZ students. ?? At this stage in my career, it's easy to look back and steer them in the right direction. However, my inspiration has always been my parents, who guided me during my GenZ days and whose advice I implemented through their perspective without questioning it. The last three words are the key ?? I hope and pray that if you can take one line of it and run with it, you are the winner ?? --- Here were two of the top questions that were raised directly/indirectly. ??♂? Will AI take over our jobs? ?? ?My response: How I see it today, the cycle will be like this: Human ?? AI ?? Human. Definitely! Humans have a big influence on guiding AI and making sure it delivers the results we want. That's what I think today ?? AI can and will replace certain jobs, but we need to adapt to stay relevant. It's easy to say this time it's different - how? We have moved from Mainframes ?? Client Server ?? Web 1.0 ?? Web 2.0 Web 3.0 & Cloud Tech ?? Now AI ...... This cycle will go on ?? Right question to yourself results in right action What am I doing to stay relevant? ---- ??♀?How much salary can I expect in my first job?? ?My response: Focus should be on aligning yourself with a purpose-driven company during the first two years of your career. This purpose should resonate with your passion. And, money follows passion when you act with intensity and commitment — not the other way around. ?? ?? Today, I was prepared to be unprepared. Our CDANZ - Career Development Association of New Zealand coffee catch-up workshop on 'boosting productivity with AI' was nothing short of transformative! Despite the unconventional approach—preparing the presentation just five minutes before the session ( I intended to do it live but pressed enter too soon) and crafting the post-workshop survey live with our attendees—we achieved remarkable success. If you thrive on meticulous planning, this session might have seemed chaotic, but it was packed with enlightening "aha" moments that energised everyone. I remember our first coffee catch-up session was about 'Uncertainty or an opportunity in disguise'. Back then, the most common hidden barrier identified was the 'fear of technology.' Today, we not only addressed that fear head-on but also transformed it into a powerful ally. The interactive session saw us embrace new productivity tools that demystify and enhance our work with AI. Thank you all for being part of this incredible experience. Your openness to this impromptu format allowed us to uncover spontaneous insights and practical solutions. We've come a long way!
