Wayfair to cut 1,750 workers
Wayfair has confirmed it plans to lay off 1,750 workers, or around 10% of its global staff, Bloomberg reported. The online furniture retailer, which cut about 870 jobs in August, is the latest pandemic darling to struggle with the drop-off in sales following a boom linked to lockdowns. Slowing consumer spending in the face of high inflation and rapidly rising interest rates have scuppered its efforts to expand warehouse operations. The company lost almost a $1 billion in the first nine months of last year.
