To boost your creativity, do nothing
Creativity and problem solving can be fostered if you let your mind wander, an academic study claims. A recent experiment encouraged over 250 people to engage in directionless contemplation or free thinking. The results revealed how a moment of self reflection can boost one’s imagination and help in refining problem solving skills. Yet, psychologists believe that many of us still find it difficult to practise this activity. They blame it on smartphones as the biggest form of distraction.
