The sad demise of the office buddy
Making friends in the workplace is getting increasingly difficult in an age of remote work and "quiet quitting." A recent survey from online software marketplace Capterra showed that employees rank workplace relationships as the least important part of job satisfaction; compensation and work-life balance were the most important. Meanwhile, a Gallup poll in June found that a mere 19% of employees had a work best friend, slightly down from 20% pre-pandemic. While many workers may welcome the growing separation of work and home life, companies fear this divide will hurt retention and team spirit.

I agree.... I think there is a way for leaders to maybe have monthly events where all of us go out for drinks or go on a boat ride or have a picnic. Ill admit that with all the work I usually put in, my workplace people end up my friends. And, sometimes they make a bad day bearable.... ??
