Tesla loses its 'Master of Coin'
One of Tesla's highest-ranking executives is stepping down. Chief Financial Officer Zachary Kirkhorn is leaving the electric automaker after 13 years, four of them in his current role. Nicknamed the "Master of Coin," Kirkhorn had even been floated as a possible successor to Tesla CEO Elon Musk. He has been a stabilizing force at Tesla, which has been "consistently profitable" and paying down billions in debt since he took over as finance chief, Bloomberg notes. The firm has also been slashing prices to stay ahead of rivals big and small in the increasingly crowded EV industry.
- Chief Accounting Officer Vaibhav Taneja is succeeding Kirkhorn, who Tesla said will stay on through the end of the year for a "seamless transition."

What an incredible ride Zach Kirkhorn! ?? Being Tesla's CFO and successfully navigating the company during all the turmoil post-IPO and the financial situation Tesla was in is truly incredible. Being the right hand and the trusted partner to Elon is something that only someone in your caliber and brilliance can do and do it so successfully! ?? I never forget how impressed I've always been by you and your way of thinking in our group studies together at HBS. You are amazing! I cheered your success from the sideline this past decade. I have no doubt you will do something amazing next!
