Starbucks ramps up pressure on RTO
Starbucks' corporate employees have been advised that if they don't come back to the office at least three days a week it could result in disciplinary action "up to, and including, separation," Bloomberg reports, citing an internal memo. Those with physical, mental, sensory impairment or other disabilities can seek an exception. The coffee giant's move ramps up RTO pressure, given that an "accountability process" to determine who is — and isn't — complying will be enforced starting in January. New CEO Brian Niccol's arrangement allows him to live in California and commute to Starbucks' Seattle headquarters only as needed.
