Spotify gives employees new playlist
Spotify is taking “work from anywhere” quite literally as it will allow employees to do their jobs from abroad. The streaming giant says it will accommodate workers wishing to move to a different country, provided the time difference is manageable and relocation doesn’t throw up legal issues. The company explains on its blog that work “isn’t something you come to the office for” but “something you do”. The new options to permanently work from home or from abroad are intended to improve work-life balance and make it possible to “tap into new talent pools”.

Wow! This is such a great move. Many companies are now looking into working remotely to be part of their company policy. However, I believe there will be some challenges with regards to local presence in specific industries and functions. Pay range is another challenge on how employees will be paid referencing to their current comp. In addition to the social aspect that plays a role in connection and development. But in all, the world is hugely shifting to new ways of working and I’m sure that working hours or a 9-5 approach will change into new flexible hours or remote approach.
