Shorter week gains steam
How about Fridays off forever? The early results of a 4-day workweek trial run at 33 companies in the U.S. and Ireland show that shrinking work hours without cutting worker pay could lead to better business outcomes. Most companies reported an increase in revenue, a decrease in absentee days, fewer resignations and higher employee ratings. Workers, meanwhile, reported decreased levels of burnout and improved work-life balance. The results were so compelling that most participating companies are sticking with a shorter week.
