Samsung showcases 'smart ring'
Tech giants offered glimpses of their most innovative new devices ahead of the annual Mobile World Congress, which kicked off Monday in Barcelona, Spain. Samsung announced it will unveil a wearable smart ring for health tracking and join other companies, including Huawei spinoff Honor, in showcasing phones with artificial intelligence features. However, there's one big player that won't be at MWC: Apple. It "has explored the idea" of a fitness ring like Samsung's, as well as smart glasses and other wearables, but is not currently developing them, Bloomberg reports, citing anonymous sources.
- HMD, a maker of Nokia phones, will begin releasing devices under its own name — including a pink Barbie flip phone with Mattel. Lenovo is demonstrating a concept laptop with a see-through screen.
- Google revealed it's bringing its Gemini artificial intelligence models to a host of applications, including Google Messages and Android Auto.
