The #pandemic is raising demand for #workfromhome roles, resulting in a 30-35% spike in top domestic pay packages at Indian Institutes of Technology, Economic Times reports. In some cases, salaries are even higher than those for global position offers, especially as some companies have not yet opened up for foreign roles at campuses.
At IIT Roorkee, the highest domestic offer this #placement season stood at ?80 lakh – 16% higher than the highest international offer – a first ever for the institute. A similar trend was also seen in IIT Guwahati, although the margin was smaller. At IIT Madras, the pay for a domestic role by MTX Group is higher than the top international offer till now.
These roles are global, requiring employees to work with teams in countries like the US and Australia. For companies, this is also an opportunity to bridge global pay gaps and “retain rockstars in India”.
