Restaurants innovate for winter
Restaurants and bars have had to get creative to bring in revenue by setting up outdoor dining areas in parking lots and along sidewalks to make up for limited or no indoor capacity. That creativity is being put to the test as winter approaches and owners contemplate how to lure in customers who are typically hunkering in from the cold. Eateries are building makeshift tents and stocking up on heat lamps — if they can find them — in order to avoid closing altogether.

One step forward, two steps back. I applaud any restaurant that is attempting to innovate their way around all of the restrictions. Dining out and enjoy a fine meal prepared by someone else is one of the true great pleasures of life. Having this industry constantly under assault with the ever changing rules and regulations is unfair and as equally frustrating for the patrons who are watching their favorite establishments disappear before their eyes. I wish them all the best-please keep fighting.
