People who are looking for work should ultimately be looking for the right job, but that doesn’t mean they’ll find a perfect position. In fact, expecting a job to be perfect may set you up for disappointment, according to Lindsey Pollak, who is the author of Recalculating: Navigate Your Career Through the Changing World of Work. Great topic! Research the company, its values, and position as much as possible. Reach out to current or previous employees on LinkedIn and ask about management, culture, room for growth, etc. Besides compensation, culture or a great boss fit are also really good things to look out for. It's also important to realize even if the job isn't "perfect", can it be a learning experience that can be the stepping stone to where you really want to be? It's all about what's important to you at the end of the day!
