More layoffs at Compass

I can’t say today has been an easy one. So many of my friends and mentors were a part of the Compass layoffs today. My heart goes out to everyone but I know they are talented individuals who will land on their feet. Special shoutout to Mike Eyl for hiring me and being an amazing inspiration to my personal and professional development. You have influenced me tremendously. To all of my former colleagues and people I would call my friends that were affected by the Compass layoffs today, I know you will all do well. Today is a day that I never thought would happen. Unfortunately, I have been affected by the most recent round of layoffs from Compass. I'm still processing today's events and I would be lying if I said I wasn't experiencing a spectrum of emotions right now. That being said, working for Compass was an incredible opportunity. I took a leap of faith, leaving almost a decade of experience in the pharmaceutical world, to work for the #1 brokerage with a tech startup feel. I learned so much about sales that I didn't even think existed. I got to work alongside and adjacent to some of the most talented sales professionals I've ever witnessed. Seriously, so many of the Strategic Growth Managers at Compass were sales savants. I wish I could have stayed longer, but all great things must one day come to an end. So, its time to look for the next step in my career. If you're still reading this, that's where you come in! 1. More layoffs: Compass fires another 18 percent of employees. The company declined to say how many people — you know, actual human beings — this move affects, deciding to focus on dollar figures and cost savings.
