Meta, Google plan to cut costs
Meta and Google are looking to cut costs, which could include job reductions but not layoffs, The Wall Street Journal reports, citing anonymous sources. Both tech giants have recently reorganized some teams and departments, offering affected employees the opportunity to apply for other roles within the companies instead of dismissing them outright. The tactic could help Meta and Google slowly reduce headcounts and reach their goals of saving up to 10% in costs without joining the dozens of companies that have announced layoffs.

If revenue declines, so will headcount. If valuations decline, so will headcount. This isn't that hard to figure out. I don't think there is any such thing as job security these days based on some of the experiences my peers have related to me and what I have been reading - the only truly secure jobs are in government where job protections are much better.
