Meet the extreme digital nomad

Just how much of a trend will this be? I've taken 3 long trips of 2-3 months in the last few years to test out remote work from 7 countries in Europe and South America, and as long as I had reliable wifi, no one knew where I was unless I told them. For meeting new locals and other travelers, I would attend language meet-ups to practice my skills, many of whom I hope to see on future trips. I will say there's an addictive quality to novelty in that each new day brings promises of new sights and experiences, although having a significant other who appreciates this lifestyle would seem ideal. For remote work and travel, there are now laptops which weigh as little as 2.5 pounds without sacrificing speed, storage space or screen size. #remotework #digitalnomad #travel

If I was single, childless and a decade (or two) younger, I would 100% be drawn to this kind of lifestyle, though Alan Frei lost me at the shoe rental (and I've rented dresses from RTR). To me, there's something exhilarating about moving regularly and exploring new places (though I've also lived in more places than many have in five lifetimes so it's a part of my DNA). $2,000 a month doesn't even sound that pricy compared to rents in some major U.S. cities... Are you a feet-firmly-rooted kinda person or could you see yourself living this type of extreme digital nomadic life?
