Is 'quiet hiring' a win-win?
Employers looking to fill their needs in a potential economic downturn are increasingly turning to “quiet hiring.” The phenomenon, which the media has been fixated on recently, involves either hiring short-term contractors or reassigning employees to new positions — or giving them additional tasks. Cross-training or retraining existing staff is far cheaper and faster than hiring, especially in as tight a labor market as there is now. Quiet hiring can also present career opportunities for workers when done right.

Maybe there should be more conversation on we why everything needs to be “quiet” right now? I think perhaps we are feeling fractured and damaged from the past 3 years to handle the difficult truth that business is making very hard decisions to try and stay afloat. It will take us a long time to recover emotionally ??and professionally ??. Thank you for keeping the conversation going Jessie!
