Expats flocking to host of new cities
Hong Kong and Singapore have long topped the list of destinations where internationally minded professionals want to work. But political upheaval in the former and stricter labor regulations in the latter have jeopardized the cities' status as expat hotspots. Bloomberg has identified six cities that are now luring foreign workers in search of adventure and career growth: Kuala Lumpur, an affordable business and travel hub; Lisbon, which has a "mix of culture, nightlife and warm weather"; desert city Dubai; growing tech hub Bangalore; startup star Mexico City; and beach city Rio de Janeiro.
