Don't wait to get ready for a job hunt
Don't wait to prep for your job search. That's the advice of resume writer Adrienne Tom. She writes on LinkedIn that job seekers who end up rushing to apply for jobs in January are already behind. The holiday season tends to slow down hiring managers, because they may be spending less time at work and have less time to respond. That's why, Tom says, preparing your documents now will put you in a place to get moving in the new year. She recommends researching companies now, and continuous development of your network. Do not wait for opportunities; instead, work to create them.

I agree on #4. I'm very hesitant to say this at times, but you know the posts you see where job seekers are complaining about their lack of results (e.g. "I've sent out over 500 resumes....")? I will go to their LinkedIn and, for many, there is either nothing on there or bare minimum. I tell everyone- this is where you start. These tend to be the 4 primary sections in terms of amount of content. Start by building these up as best you can, and then work on the other aspects of LinkedIn. And if it's too daunting of a task, seek help!!
