Carvana lets go of 1,500 employees

Carvana plans to lay off about 1,500 people, or 8% of its workforce, following a freefall in the company's stock, according to an message obtained by CNBC.

Unfortunately, I was impacted by Carvana's layoffs; the company laid off 1,500 people today. I wish my time could have ended differently at Carvana; however, I am grateful for the time and people at Carvana. Earlier this year, I decided to change careers to grow and develop professionally. I was able to do that at Carvana, and, for that, I am truly thankful. Today, Carvana announced that they are laying off 1500 employees today about 8% of the workforce. Sad to say I was one of those who was abruptly let go. I am appreciative of the connections I made there and the experience gained over the past year. I understand that it’s a hard time for many right now! Today Carvana laid off 8% of their workforce equaling 1,500 employees. Unfortunately I was one of the many impacted by this layoff. Hi everyone, Unfortunately, I was impacted by the Carvana layoffs and was given until the end of the year to find a new role. It was a pleasure working for Carvana. At Carvana, I was tasked with maintaining and adding features to Carvana’s 40+ web services. I will definitely miss the projects, the ping-pong games, and the banter. Found out this morning that my 2.5 years at Carvana has come to an end. I was among the 1,500 employees in today’s layoff. It was an absolute pleasure working there and with so many amazing people. Well, here we are again. I also was one of the chosen in the RIF at Carvana today. I can't thank my fearless leader Lillian Bohdanowicz enough for taking a chance on me two years ago. I soaked up every chance I had to learn from people smarter than me, ranging from Kenneth Yeung to Brian Bailey to Michael Rogers, Allen Larry Weigner, Mathew Philip the list goes on and on. While it is definitely sad for the journey to end, I feel stronger and more capable in my skills than ever before. With that, I am excited to announce my next opportunity. On 12/5 I start as a Senior Analyst at THE Ohio State University!
