Business travel spending rebounds
Global business travel spending has rebounded faster than expected from a year ago and is expected to top nearly $1.8 trillion by 2027, according to a report from the Global Business Travel Association. The accelerated growth comes as global economies stabilize and forecasts of recession fail to materialize. A rebound in demand for business travel following the pandemic also helped drive spending. Business passenger travel is 75% to 85% of 2019 volume for U.S. carriers, the report notes, partly due to the slow return of technology firms and remote work.
