Apple Intelligence launch delayed
Apple Intelligence will roll out later than expected, missing the initial iOS 18 release in September and possibly the first iPhone 16 shipments, Bloomberg reports, citing anonymous sources. The new AI features are now scheduled for release by October via software updates, to allow time to address any stability issues and ensure smooth integration, according to Bloomberg. The high-stakes rollout is part of Apple's broader effort to compete in the generative AI space. Apple has also taken the "atypical" step of making some features available to developers for testing already.
- In other Apple news, the company reached its first-ever U.S. contract deal with a retail union, according to the International Association of Machinists.
- Workers at a Maryland location — one of only two unionized stores in the country — will get pay hikes averaging 10% in a three-year deal.
B2B content that generates ROI
Will this be yet another instance where Apple surveys the market, allows other companies to be first, learns from their mistakes, and then releases an Apple version that blows everyone away? That would be cool. As an Apple product user--phone, laptop--I'm definitely eager to see what sort of AI experience they come up with.
